More Piglets on the way.  Two of my registered sows had their first litters also.  We are also starting to sell Sparkenhoe Red Leicester cheese, also I am going to visit a Stilton producer to add their cheese to the growing collection.

Cold and snowy for all the animals.  New drinker system in working but frozen so still have to carry water cans for drinking water.

Dec ‘ 09

Busy month, first Christmas running the shop.  Free Range Geese ready, all ordered.  New recipes ready for Christmas.  Christmas sausage a hit, along with the Christmas Gala pie.  Long hours.  We also homed some rabbits this month and they enjoy the run with the chickens.

Paris has had her 3rd litter, all doing well, 10 new little piglets, pictures soon.

July ‘ 09

9 Goslings and some breeding geese. The goslings will be ready in time for Christmas.

April ‘09

Opened a local farm shop in Stoney Stanton Post Office, we are open on a Friday 10.00 a.m. - 5.00.pm, shutting for lunch between 12.15 a.m.- 1.15 p.m. We also open on a Saturday 10.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.  Selling all our pork products as well as chicken.  We have also opened a gift ware shop within the farm shop.

Paris our other sow also had her second litter she had 10 piglets, sow and piglets doing well, enough though we keep getting the cold snaps. See gallery for pictures

Feb ‘09

Purchased 2 registered gilts for breeding purposes.  Phoebe and Peppa, keeping with the ‘P’ theme (apart from Jackie), we also have Perdy and Prancer.

Jackie, one of first sows has given birth to her second litter. Nine healthy piglets, sow and piglets are doing well.

Purchased 2 registered Boars.  We want to increase our herd size.  We will only need 1 boar but it is hard to tell what they will be like when they grow up, I will see how they develop in their personality and temperament before I make a choice.
