Goslings went well at Christmas. In 2010 we will incubate our own eggs from our breeding stock.

Our ducks are gradually increasing in size. We have Peking, Cayuga's and Aylesburys'. We have some breeding Aylesburys but mother ducks are not maternal all year round and we have been incubating some of the eggs. We have been quite successful in our incubation especially with the assistance from a very broody hen. Our ducks are reared for egg laying and for the table. Living in their natural environment they seem to thrive and have been producing eggs. They are great fun to watch especially when you introduce the ducklings onto the open water.
When we first moved to the farm we were presented with 4 chickens that had been hatched as part of a school project. This encouraged us to continue with chickens and with the latest addition of the x battery hens we now have the start of an egg producing flock. The construction of our new hen house and the planting of some trees will enable us to increase our flock.
